Time to close up. I know that a lot of you readers out there think that there is way too much to do when doing a community project. This is very true but you must think about the results of what you are doing, This is one of the most inspiring parts of what you can do. Just keep pushing on.

I say this with respect to you. It is obvious that you still have a lot to learn about graffiti. You and your friends/mentors might encourage your "trendy" subject matter as a "problem"...but my advice is for you to research how graff murals done by respected artists help limit the amount of crap tagging that occurs. Also please research how quality murals can bring life to areas/buildings/walls and in turn can help to revitalize some parts of town. Tagging has its place too, and believe it or not, "rules of engagement." Anyone I know who has been into graff would never tag a business, school, graveyard, memorial, natural wonder, etc.....There is WAY more to graffiti than it seems you think. Its like singing--everyone can sing and most people suck at it. Everyone can draw, most people suck at drawing. Graff is so visually appealing that now everyone wants to do it, and are ruining things for the quality artists-who are not criminal vandals. Graff is b-boy culture, it isnt about gangs, or destruction. It is about funk. And flow. You need to learn more about the artform. Yes vandalism is ugly, but not all graff is vandalism. What would be nice is if you made a blog about the code of conduct that true graffiti artists work under. There is one. You don't know about it. Fools, drunks, pre-teens, gang-bangers, and toys vandalize and tag in places that most true graff folks would shake their heads at. They ruin it for everyone. Try to think about it with an open-mind. Graffiti can be beautiful. We who revitalize dislike vandals even more than you the police and the politicians. Keep that in mind.
