But most teenagers do not understand this and continuously commit this over and over till they are caught. Even though there are places provided for you to express yourself in the form of graffiti in any major city. The consequences for graffiti can range from detainment into juvenile detainment centers or Jail to fines of about $1000.
Consequences
Overall Review
These crimes have multiple consequences that almost no-one knows about. When these consequences are put into effect, Minors (ages 18 and younger) will be detained to Juvenile Detention Centers until time has been served or bail has been committed. They will be fined due to criticality of the graffiti or vandalism that was committed during this act. The usual damage fine or pay due to court is usually about $1000 for a misdemeanor and $10,000 for a felony.
Damage Addition
The crime is rated by if the damages reach above or below $400. When the damages are less than amounted for $400 is counted as a misdemeanor and can risk, along with the fine, up to 1 year in detainment. If the damages accumulate up to above $400, then it is counted as a felony and can risk at least one year in detainment along with a fine of up to $10,000. But, if there is an accumulative amount of felonies or misdemeanors, the amount doesn’t add together. This has been argued throughout the country to let serial Graffitists go free for more time in the future.

Places to Graffiti
Now, there are actual places for people to express themselves in graffiti. These walls are created for young teens to adults halfway through their lives. But, most graffiti artists are still creating graffiti in all the wrong places; this can range from walls to buildings to even poles on the side of the road.
Gang Related Graffiti
The most usual writing is the name of a gang such as THE PINK BUNNY CREW or the 657 gang. These are mostly done by teens that were inducted into the gang by their friends that don’t fully understand what they are doing until it is too late.
Oldest Graffiti
Many people believe that graffiti has been around since writing but scientists have lately found the oldest known graffiti that has only been around since the 1800s. This graffiti was created in Glastonbury Tor, where it was only made by stone carving. These were made on the walls and towers of St. Michaels Church. They were either on rock, stone, or bark. http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:St_Michael's_church_-_C18_graffiti_-_geograph.org.uk_-_880385.jpg This link will send you to more info on the St. Michaels Church.
