History of Graffiti
Graffiti is usually what would be called destruction of property. This was actually a very in depth way of communication in past Europe. The most prolific account of ancient graffiti is on the side of St. Michael’s church in Glastonbury, Tor. It was completely made from stone carving. The main places where there are spaces in which there are the most graffiti are usually gang pads and city walls.
One of the main reasons why people actually do graffiti can be from a need to outlet their inner artist to just plain wanting to get their message heard. After the beginning of paint for less initiative, paint was being sold for less. Once this had started, people began putting it and using it everywhere. But even before that, many of us used whatever we could to expose our true message.
Even the ancient Egyptians would use graffiti as a way of recording both true events and mythical inscriptions. These are now known Hieroglyphics and show pictures to represent words. Therefore, graffiti has been recorded throughout history, sometimes not even thought to actually be graffiti.
